Akarana Avenue Kindergarten is situated in the central Auckland area of Mt. Roskill, the home of one of the most diverse ranges of cultures in New Zealand. Our enrolments include children representing many countries.
We include and incorporate resources from all cultures into our play areas, as we understand that when children see themselves reflected within the environment they feel belonging and are therefore ready to learn.
Our kindergarten has a large indoor environment and separate room for group mat times. The outdoor play area incorporates upper and lower playground areas. Due to our spacious environment children have opportunities for large group, small group and individual teaching and learning. Children are often involved in social play, which supports language learning.
The teachers work together, with children and their whanau, to support and extend interests into project work.
